The first impression is the last impression, so make sure that your first impression is the best impression. According to the research conducted by Harvard University, a person forms an opinion about the other person within the first two minutes- at least 6 to 7 meetings are required in order to change one’s opinion about the other person. This is exactly what the workshop, been held by the Management Department at Manipal University Dubai, is all about. The first day of the three day workshop organised by the Management Department at who teamed up with the Frankfinn Institute of Airhostess Training, was on the subject of Corporate Grooming and Etiquettes. The speakers for the day’s event were Ms. Daisy Mehta; Centre Head of Air Hostess Training, Management Centre and Administration, and Ms. Bhavani, Placement Manager with Franfinn and also Aviation Grooming and Personality Development of the Centre. The speakers gave thought-provoking and eloquent speeches on the effect of personal grooming, especially with regards to an interviewer, enlightening the audience and preparing the final year students for the workplace. The 3-day management workshop also includes ‘Resume Writing’ exercises and mock interviews, after which, each participant will receive a certificate of participation. -Fatima Husain
