Janhar won the title of Mr. ISM
Mementos and titles were given to students
The farewell party for the Department of ISM took place on the 24th of May 2009 in the auditorium of the Manipal University - Dubai Campus. The juniors bid their goodbyes to the batch of 2006-2009. The party started at 10 AM, where the theme was ‘Club’, and everyone came dressed in their very best. First up, the graduating students were each given titles that describe them best. Along with this, the graduating batch was also given mementos. After this session, there was a spectacular classical dance performance by 2nd year students Rokiya, Binisha and Rinsa. The next game session would probably one of the highlights of the whole party. A game of Guess Who? was played, where the faculty was asked to guess their 3rd year students from a group of childhood photographs. This was followed by a dance performance by the 1st and 2nd year students. An interactive session called ‘Professors Soup’ was held between the professors and the students where each group got to talk about the memories they shared all through the three years. Post-lunch, there was a performance by the college band ‘Rock-a-Doodle-Doo’, after which there was a ramp-walk judged by the faculty, who chose the Mr. and Ms. ISM for the batch 2006-2009. Janhar was chosen Mr. ISM, while Roslyn was chosen Ms. ISM. Once the ramp-walk was over, the remaining party was spent in dancing and clicking photographs. “They will be sorely missed. I’ve always spent my break hours with my seniors. It’ll be really weird not having them around next year.” Says Francesca Fernandes, a 2nd year ISM student. As they gathered the last memories of their times together, the graduating batch were glad for this opportunity to have fun together as a class for the last time. Who knows when they would all be able to get together next?
