Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) kick started their ‘Week of Welcome’ (WoW)  on  10.10.10 by organizing an orientation program for the 2010-2011 freshmen at the Recreation Room, DIAC. This event was also attended by first year students of Manipal University Dubai. 

Ms. Salma Rizwi, who heads the Student Hub, warmly welcomed all the freshmen present at the gathering.  The two hour orientation program started at 9 a.m. with an introduction to DIAC, an insight into local culture, tradition, norms and an overview of the code of conduct expected to be followed by all DIAC students. 

“Week of Welcome is an ongoing tradition since five years and it gives us great pleasure to see new enthusiastic faces joining us every year. We want the students to have a great time by giving them an excellent kick-start to their college years.” said Salma Rizwi, Head, Students Hub, DIAC. 

Ms. Maha Al Taher, a career manager at Student Hub, spoke about providing a wide range of opportunities for students and support in finding the ideal career path after graduation.  Programs highlighted were – internships, work placement opportunities, seminars, interview and CV writing workshops, key note speakers, and many more. 

The program ended with refreshments and an opportunity for students from various universities at DIAC to interact and to get to know each other better. 

The ‘Week of Welcome’ (WoW) is organized by the Student Hub, an official representative of the student body of Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). The week is full of fun-filled events to officially to welcome the new students to the campus.
