A special blue color NOL card was introduced to provide discounted fares for students between the ages of 5 years to 23 years travelling by public transport; which includes the Dubai Metro. “The discounted fare card is available to students from all over the UAE.” says Mohammad Yousuf Al Mudharreb, Director of the Unified Automated Fare Collection Department, and the Dubai Roads and Transports Authority.

The applicants for these cards should be full time students at accredited schools, colleges and universities in the UAE.

People can apply or submit applications and at the ticketing counters and bus stations.  There are different validity periods pertaining to various age groups with three years validity for 16-year-olds, two years in case the student is 17 years of age and one year if they are in the 18 to 23 age group.

The documents required for the application include:
•    A letter from the university.
•    A copy of your passport or Emirates National ID card.
•    A recent photograph.

Cards will be delivered to the students by courier within 15 days of submitting the applications according to the RTA.
