It was that time of the year again to get art back into action. The junior freshmen in Manipal University, Dubai who are a part of the Foundation programme, organized their annual event, 'Intuitions 2011' on 19th April in the university auditorium along with their faculty members. 

The exhibition was organized by the foundation students to highlight and exhibit their creativity and potential. From customized T-shirts to glass and mirror paintings, painted pottery, it surely created the ambience of a very art friendly and artistic atmosphere.

Serifa D’souza, a foundation student who was part of the organizing committee for the Art Exhibition 2011 said “The event was a combination of psychology and art. It took us a month to organize this event and I’m very happy that our efforts have paid off very well. There were a lot of games and exciting activities planned out for our event participants. We also collected money for charity by selling items and foodstuff such as brownies.”

Truly, there was quite a lot to game for at the event. The different stalls which were put up which included - Candles and Carvings, Art, Grooming Centre (where one could get their eye makeup done and nails painted), Selective Attention, the ‘i’ Quiz, Thumb Painting , Inside the Killer's Mind, Peception Stall and Personality Development Stall.

Dr. B. Ramjee, Director, Manipal University Dubai visited the exhibition along with Mr. A. M. Thimmiya, Senior Vice President, MENA Region and encouraged  the students. Ms. Zakiya Ansari, co-ordinator, Foundation programme said, “I’m highly impressed with the event and my students are very young who have just come from high school and I did not expect them to come up with such brilliant stuff. I would like to give Kudos to the entire Foundation team, for the success of this event.”

Sapna Phulwani, part of the organizing committee for the Art Exhibition 2011 said “It was a very invigorating experience to organize this particular event and it is going to remain a memory for all of us. I will miss every bit of the fun I had throughout organizing the Art Exhibition.”

Kevin Sebastian, a media student from Manipal University, Dubai says that “These kinds of events are sure crowd pullers and it is a very different event having a concept of its own. We really need to have more events like these.”

There were refreshments and goodies for visitors and lots of prizes to be won - transforming the auditorium for one morning to a magical world of art, learning and fun.
