The 9th Annual Orientation Day was successfully held on the 24th September 2011 at the new Manipal Campus for the incoming batch of 2011.

“This event has a very special significance to me and my staff. This new permanent campus with state of the art facility is now ready. It’s heartening to see a rapid growth in the diverse fields of study. At our institution we will equip and train you to be the best, capable of facing the trials and tribulations of your life’s journey,” said Dr. B. Ramjee, Director of Manipal University, Dubai as he welcomed students and their families.

As the new campus provides us with the state of art facilities which includes spacious and efficient gym, activity rooms, multi- purpose basketball court etc, it satisfies the student’s needs for recreation. “There were certain things missing in the old block and we always felt that pain as administrators that we were not giving our students the best in terms of space, recreation, leisure activities and so on and now that has been taken care of” said Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Manipal University, India.

A short video was screened briefing the students about the programs offered in the University. Dr. Ramjee later introduced all the departments, their respective faculties and supporting staff. As the ceremony came to an end, students were free to submit queries or questions pertaining to their courses or the college and its facilities.
A few students shared their reasons behind choosing the course and what expectations they have from the University.
Mohammed Zamman, first year B.E Mechatronics student, said he had joined Manipal as it was the only University that offered this course, and he has high hopes about the college and its quality education.
Aiman Fatma a first year media student said that she had joined the course to learn more about the field of media and is confident that she will be taught by good faculty, be provided with excellent resources that will enable her to be a successful media professional.
Another student, Mohammad Hannan, first year student of Mechanical Engineering said, “My entire family has studied Mechanical Engineering and I want to do the same and after finishing this course, I expect good recruitment in any leading companies around U.A.E. “
Mrs. Uma Prasad, the Student Services Officer wished a warm welcome to all students who are entering a campus that is their very own, “I want them to treat it like their home, care for every inch, every furniture of this campus and property as their own”.
