The ‘Pink Book Sale’ was held on Friday, 7th October to mark international Breast Cancer Awareness month, organized by Safe & Sound in Bur Juman for the fifteenth consecutive year.

According to their official Facebook page, avid readers lined up for nifty book bargains allowing the fund raiser to sell more than 8600 books raising an estimate of AED 47,000.

Funds collected by the Safe & Sound, ‘Pink Book Sale’ will be donated and utilized towards providing health facilities, free check-ups, mammograms and extending the educational outreach and awareness of the campaign goals among women and men. Moreover, this donation will be monitored by Red Crescent.

Visual communication student and aspiring photographer, Sakina UmmeAbiha managed to capture the essence of the event as readers not only stacked their book baskets but naturally became a part of a great cause.
