Bharathanatyam dancer Kalaimamanibeing honored at
Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s 130th birth anniversary

Dubai Tamil Sangam (DTS) proudly celebrated Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s 130th birth anniversary on 23rdDecember 2011 at the Indian association, Dubai.To honor Bharathiyar’s unparallel services to the Tamil literature and Indian independence, organized “Bharathikku oru Bharathanjali” that invited renowned dancer Kalaimamani Smt.Shobana Ramesh to be part of the Bharathanatyam concert as she portrays the amazing skills in Bharathi’s poetry through dance.

Organized by the Dubai Tamil Association and supported by the Indian Consulate, respected guests paid floral tributes to Mahakavi Bharathiar on this occasion. The dignitaries invited were Mrs. Jayanthimala Suresh, founder patron and the president of the Dubai Tamil Sangam along with honorable members from the Indian consul- Mr. Ashok Babu, Public Information Officer and Mr. MP Singh, Consul Labour Welfare of Indian Consulate. 

Also attending the event were Mr. Mohan Valrani, chairman of the Al Shirawi groups, Mr. Bryan Nair, General Manager of Wafi hotels and Mr. Khalifulla, Principal of Crescent Matriculation School.
There were numerous dance and singing performances on Mahakavi Bharathis by the association members. After these performances by the young blooming dales who were highly interested in this renowned poet’s works and some of them for the very first time.
Mr.Mohan Valrani said, “If we people cannot give dhanseva (financial help), thanseva(physical help) and gnyaan seva (knowledge sharing) to the inferiors, please try to give manseva (prayers and wishes) for those inferior people . Then you will definitely lead a successful life forever.”
Public Information Officer Mr. Ashok Babu said that we need to be open minded and have some self respect to live in this wonderful land then everyone of us can be a Bharathi in our lives.
And finally when the prestigious dancer spoke a few words on Bharathi and his greatness, Kalaimamani said, “One God, one and only God that is human and that is me, you and all of us. This is a kind of self confidence which is supposed to be prevailed in each of our souls.”
