Additionally, six media students from Manipal University, Dubai were selected volunteers at the event that garnered a huge response.

Farida Gheewala , a final year media student specializing in Advertising, Public relations and Event management found the even to be an eye-opener.

“I had never heard of Comic Con before. But the event was packed with people. I volunteered at the press conference and registration department at MEFCC and was amazed to see a constant flow of people attending the event,” Gheewala said.

While, Mariyam Khalil, another final year advertising student described her experience as "one of a kind" as she takes part in a comic con for the first time in the UAE, "I loved the concept. The Cosplay (a competition to design costumes, comics etc) was amazing as the participants brought all the characters to life. The Artist Gallery was a delight to see with the exhibition of the creative work of illustrators around Dubai. It was an incredible experience and I look forward to attending it once again.”

Comic Con is a convention that aims to bring together artists, stars and enthusiasts from the film, TV and animation world in order to create a platform to showcase existing and new talent. With UAE hosting its first-ever convention, the next few years hope to be bigger and better for MEFCC.
